The head of the Kosovo Lottari workers' Union, Shkumbin Goci, has said the government has a duty to 60 workers in terms of wages, since they have nearly three years without financial income. He also said they would not stop the protests until their demands are met.
We, even today, have been forced to go out and claim our rights, such as passing the law, fulfilling the government's obligation to workers in terms of salaries. It's about 60 workers who have no income for two years, are left under God's mercy, and that's why... We always have promises, but they're running dry and we're still forcing ourselves to get on the street. We will not stop until the requirements are met. We are legally trying to solve our case”, Goci said.
Goci said they feel disappointed with local institutions on the issue of Kosovo Lottari workers.
“Dje has been an interview of the minister, where the journalist asks a question: tomorrow they have Kosovo Lottaria workers a protest. Where's their case? And the minister's response is to regret, he has disappointed all of our workers when he says he should analyze whether the state of Kosovo should have a lottery. This is a disaster”, he said.
While the Union, Lottaria's worker Sheriff from the Ferizaj municipality, asked the government to return to the workplace.
We just want to get us back to work, we don't want charity. We don't want government help but just to get us back to jobs that have unjustly closed us. They know it's unfair and they know that if we send them to trial they'll lose. On May 9 they are three years old. How can a man exist without pay.. National players operate around the world, in North Korea and Saudi Arabia, and in Kosovo thanks to the government, we have only been financed, never has the government given us help... They're letting us work, then giving us our salaries until a long-term settlement of” is reached, Sheriffaj said.
The Kosovo Assembly in April 2019 has adopted the Law to Stop Game of Fate.
