Many Twitter users suspected that the picture was fired after Will Smith hit Chris Rock on stage, but Vulture reports the truth.

According to the paper, Kidman's photo was taken hours before Will hit Rock, noting that <x0foto was taking a grid run, 26 minutes before the transmission started”.

Although Kidman's shocked expression was quickly tied to the slap, the picture that struck him confirmed that it had nothing to do with the fight.

In an interview with Vulture, Los Angeles Times photographer Myung Chun said the photograph of Kidman “took place during the non- TV section”.

I thought she was excited when she saw Jessica Chastain. Kidman then stretched out her arms and greeted” said Chun, adding, “Right after that, Chastain went to greet Kidman and her husband Keith Urban. ”

Both Chastain and Kidman were nominated for best actress in Oscar. Kidman was nominated for Being the Ricardo, and Chasain was nominated for The Eyes of Tammy Faye. Chastain won her first Oscar for best actress.
