French President Emmanuel Macron spoke on the phone with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday, Moscow and Paris confirmed, without providing details of their discussion.
According to the Elise Palace, the phone call lasted an hour and a half and was held in the morning.
Later, Macro called Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
The evening before, Macro had stressed in a talk that he wanted to continue talking to Putin.
“We are not at war with Russia,” said Macro.
“I have chosen to stay in touch with President Putin and will continue to do everything necessary to persuade him to withdraw the armed forces”. / REL
