State Secretary Antony Blinken said today that the US has seen very reliable reports of deliberate attacks on civilians in Ukraine who would be considered a war crime.
“We have seen very reliable reports of deliberate attacks on civilians who would constitute a war crime. We have seen very reliable reports about the use of specific weapons”, Blinken told CNN.
And what we're doing right now is documenting all of this, uniting everyone, looking and securing that, while people and relevant organisations and institutions investigate whether or war crimes are committed, we can support whatever they're doing. So now we're looking at these reports. They are very reliable and we are documenting everything,” he added.
The statement by Blinken comes after President Joe Biden's comments last week that Russia deliberately targeted civilians in attacks on Ukraine.
Secretary - General NATO Jens Stoltenberg has also accused Russia of using tape ammunition and vacuum bombs that are prohibited under international law, broadcast CNN.
