No one has ever said that parenting is easy. Raising successful children in life does not happen automatically. In many cases, even when you do everything right, things can go wrong.

But it certainly helps not a little knowing what you can do to increase your children's chances of pursuing the right course that leads to a healthy, happy life. Here are some things researchers have discovered that parents of successful children do differently.

They Teach Children How to Use Their Time

Statistics about mental health problems among young people are shocking. According to a recent study published in the “The Journal of Antinormal Psychology”, during 2009- 2017 depression rates increased by more than 40 percent among teens aged 14-17, and 47 percent among children aged 12-13.

And the number of young people in these age groups who visited the emergency department with thoughts or suicide actions doubled in 2015 compared to 2007. According to Kim Brooks, author of the book“small animals: Parenting in the Age of Fear”, part of the problem is that parents structure every minute of their children's life, and prioritizing security and oversight at the expense of their emotional and social development.

Today the unstructed and unsupervised game is virtually in existence. And it does a lot of damage to children who don't have the chance to practice social skills like bonding friendships, and finding a way to deal with cross-person problems.

They stimulate reading

The ability to read well is very valuable, and it affects many areas of life. However, according to reader Kindel Nash, only about a third of all eight - grade students can read in or above their class level. Meanwhile, better parents use a practical approach to help their children succeed in this regard. Nash defends the “method;Read Two Image Plus” to practice reading, which she describes this way:

Choose materials that challenge your child.

Read passages that reflect a child's culture, language, and interests.

Read aloud, making sure your child listens to you.

Point your child's finger on the sentences you are reading.

Read with your child at the same time, but be moved to read aloud for yourself.

Reread these parts or stories, using the same techniques.

If you practice reading in this way almost every day for 1015 minutes, your child's ability to read will likely improve.

They are aware of what they share in social networks on their children

Shalenting, it's the phenomenon of sharing excessive information on your children on social networks. In one study, researchers found that 70 percent of parents using social media have seen other parents share things on the Internet that can shame a child, including personal information that gives the child's whereabouts, or pictures of a child at times that may be considered inappropriate.

Better parents protect their children's privacy, and they teach them by example that not everything has to be made public, especially since what's on the internet stays there forever.

They don't let TV in the kids' bedroom.

Canadian researchers analyzed the data of more than 1,800 children who attended the Enlarging Children's Development Study in Kebek. They watched the kids who had television in their bedroom since we were four, and they found out when they were in.

The ages of 12-13, these children were more likely to have a higher body mass index (BMI), unhealthy eating habits, and higher levels of emotional concern.

They were also more prone to depressive symptoms, victimization, physical aggression, and lower levels of association with others. There is no need for another screen to sit in your child's space. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends that the children's room have no television, and that the time spent before the screen is limited to children of all ages.

They have a practical approach to education

When parents get involved in their children's education early in the school year, children are less likely to have problems with focus and behavior later in the year, according to a study conducted at Missouri University, U.S.A.

Parents of the most successful children have help with doing homework, regular communication with teachers, participation in school activities, volunteer work at school, and involvement in parental counsel.

Subsequently they were less likely to have emotional or behavioral problems in class, we also discovered that students with more concerned parents with children, completed the school year with better social skills, and were able to concentrate more easily on their task”- says Tyler Smith, fellow study at Missouri University Education College. “This means that when parents become more involved in their child's schooling, the benefits for their child increase over time”- Smith stressed.
