Modern life is full of screens, from smart phones to laptops. The reality of how we work and communicate has a side effect - eye fatigue, also known as computer vision syndrome. This affects how you view and how you feel and may even affect your mental health.
The focus on the screen is more difficult for the eyes than the focus on a book because of some factors, such as the contrast between text and background, the light of the screen, the slightly turbulent text on the screen, and so on.
One of the best ways to ease eye fatigue is to limit time on the screen. However, this is not feasible for all. Here are some strategies we help with.
Rule 20-20-20: Every 20 minutes, see something 20 meters away in 20 seconds. This gives my eyes a moment to relax and recompt.
Pulse your eyes: The blinking of your eyes is important for lubricating your eyes.
Lower screen lighting
Adjust the monitor: Put the screen around 60 inches from your face. The top part of the screen should be a little below the eye level.
Use computer glasses: Some options include antireflex glass glasses and lens specially for computer screens.
Use points for an eye: The lubricating points of the eye can help restore moisture to the eye. Consult your doctor in advance.
