A small study published in the International Journal of Psychophysiology found that the consumption of Tobacco sauce resulted in sleep deprivation for many healthy young people. The authors of the study believed that this was due to the fact that eating hot food can increase body temperature and thus make it difficult to relax overnight. This theory is supported by other studies, including a 2008 study that examined the link between insomnia and body temperature.
Eating hot food at night can also cause urth, which can ruin your sleep. Urth occurs when food from the stomach becomes esophagus, creating a sense of burning.
