Biden congratulates Kosovars: Special place in my heart, support final agreement efforts with Serbia

“We are pleased that Kosovo is continuing to build and strengthen its positive relations with neighbouring countries and will continue to support your efforts towards a comprehensive normalisation agreement with Serbia, focusing on mutual recognition”, says Beden's letter.

The American president's letter, published by President Osmani, also mentions the country's achievements, saying that Kosovo has been transformed from a fragile democracy into a consolidated state.

“E welcomes your commitment to continued and vital work for strengthening Kosovo institutions and to ensure that Kosovo democracy brings results to all citizens of your country. The United States will remain a steadfast partner of Kosovo as long as you try to fight corruption and strengthen rule of law, protect religious and ethnic minorities' rights, promote fair and transparent economic growth and secure a stable energy future”, Biden followed.

President Beden wrote that last year, Kosovo consistently demonstrated leadership on the international stage. He also mentioned the United States' help to cope with the COVID pandemic.

From providing secure housing for the vulnerable to strengthening global security and co-ordination alongside the American Army in Kuwait, the people of Kosovo have witnessed to the world its bravery and generosity. As we face the COVID-19 pandemic together, I am glad that the United States had the opportunity to offer this month even half a million safe and effective doses of COVID-19 vaccine to protect and help Kosovo rebuild from pandemic”, Biden said.

Beden did not leave without even mentioning the fact that Kosovo has a special place in his heart.

“Sic you know, Kosovo has a special place in the hearts of the Biden family. Thank you again for the great honor you did to my son Beau when you gave him the post-take presidential medal for rule of law last year”, Biden wrote.

In the end, Beden said that “mese is expected to continue our joint efforts to deepen the partnership between our countries and to preserve Kosovo's future as a dynamic, sovereign, multiethnic democracy, placing its rightful place in European and Euro-Atlantic institutions”.
