Sleep is not enough. The holidays are also not. Overloads of work, accumulated fatigue, and it doesn't work at 100% of your life. It is important to rest, but even more important is to know how to rest. There are seven types of relaxation that need the body and the brain to cope with chronic deficits resulting from overload.
1. Physical Rest
It's a surprise that the first kind of rest we need is physical rest. From time to time, we must give up any activity to regain the energy we need. Sleep, napping, or just lying around can be said to rest, but at the same time, it's done by making yoga, strechting, or relaxing massages.
2. Mental Rest
This is a little harder to achieve than the first one. Sleep certainly helps, but it needs more. Your brain needs to work in such a way that I take a break from the bad thoughts or the terrible worries that overwhelm you.
A good soothing therapy that works is watching. Try to see for minutes how clouds walk in the sky, how the waves of the sea flow into the rocks, how a flower stands, or an ant's trajectory.
3. The Rest of the Senses
We live in a world filled with things that stimulate us: screens, lights, music, conversations, children, etc. Experts say that we should all allow ourselves luxury to stay 45 minutes with ourselves, without allowing anyone and nothing to distract our senses. Be present just somewhere else without getting involved.
4. Emotional Rest
This type of rest gives us space to be authentic. When someone asks us how we are because you see clearly that we are upset and we respond to <x0 well”, we automatically create ourselves under pressure. Instead, we should allow ourselves to be authentic and to answer with: “Yeah, I'm a little upset with...”
It's much more emotionally relaxing than any other answer.
5. Social rest
Understanding whether you're introversion or extrovert is very important. Is that because you need to know if you gain energy from others or feel consumed after spending much time with them? Given the limits of our <x0...
6. The Creative Rest
For those working in creative fields, this rest is absolutely necessary. Have you heard of the <x0 letterʹs block” -- the corrosion of people writing at a certain moment? This is due to overload, or maximum exploitation of creativity as a result of “I have to do it”. Go from project to project and allow yourself some time to supply energy and ideas.
7. Spiritual Rest
This kind of rest belongs to the highest level of peace, the deepest one to your entity. This can be accomplished through prayer, meditation, or search for meaning in life.
