He has not given any date, but has said the meeting should happen “very, very soon” and that the purpose of the meeting is “to find a European solution”.
Tensions between Kosovo and Serbia have increased since the Kosovo government started implementing its plan for reregistering cars with illegal Serbian license plates on November 1st.
These vehicles circulate mainly in northern Kosovo, where the majority population is Serb and largely controlled by official Belgrade.
EU spokesman Peter Stano has declined to comment on media reports in the region that “ascem has reached a solution”, but has only said that “meetings between EU officials and representatives of the parties are continuing”.
The development of negotiations has confirmed Kurti's November 18th.
He has said Kosovo Deputy Prime Minister Besnik Bislimi is in constant communication with Brussels to resolve the license issue.
According to him, new negotiations will be seen in the coming days.
The Kosovo government wants all vehicles re-registered with RKS plates, or Republic of Kosovo, but Serbia rejects, insisting on neutral plates to Kosovo status. / REL/
