Ukraine's First Foreign Minister, Emine Japarova, in the Formun for Women, Peace and Security, has talked about the challenges Ukrainian women are going through in the Russia-launched war in this country.
She at one point compared Russian President Vladimir Putin to former Serbian President Slobodan Milosevic, who committed genocide in Kosovo.
She said Putin is the new Milosevic, both of whom have blood stained hands.
Five hundred and thirty thousand soldiers have fought side by side with the men in Ukraine, not tired. They are sacrificing their lives to a free and independent Ukraine. At the same time, Russia holds hundreds of women, including pregnant women captive. Women are kidnapped and imprisoned... The lives of girls and women in Ukraine are at risk, especially of those under occupation”, Japarova said.
“Today Putin is the new Milosevic, both of whom have blood stained hands”, she added.
Japarova said she is grateful for everyone's support for Ukrainian women.
On behalf of all Ukrainian women, I want to thank you for your gratitude, for the bravery and resistance of Ukrainian women. I'm sure that the presidential medal that you shared with all Ukrainian women, whom you represent today, will encourage mothers, women, doctors, journalists and all Ukrainian women for further achievements”, she added.
