Russia's Ambassador to Serbia, Aleksandar Bocan-Kharchenko, has declared that Russia's position on the Kosovo issue is principled and consistent.
According to him, however, a sustainable and accepted solution should be found, potentially by Kosovo and Serbia, based on international legal coordinates.
On the other hand, he said the fundamental differences between the situation in Ukraine's Donba region and Kosovo “raist” are evident.
“in 2008, when Pristina unilaterally declared the so-called independence, the security of Kosovo Albanians was not threatened. Donbas ' population was subjected to genocide by Kiev's regime for eight years. If we return in 1999, since the first days of NATO's barbarous aggression against Yugoslavia, civilian infrastructure was destroyed indiscriminately, including the use of poverty-poor uranium” ammunition, he said in an interview for Politika.
“We contribute to achieving a lasting, mutually acceptable solution by Belgrade and Pristina, based on UN Security Council Resolution 1244.
