Former EPA president: The EU is divided, this is catastrophic

His view is disastrous.

It is clear that Europe must respond to its role. The EU has never needed a guide, but does not. EU states are divided. The EU is failing to meet the challenges we are facing”, Schulz said Tuesday at the Western Balkans Summit under the organisation of the prestigious magazine The Economist, in co-operation with Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti's office.

According to Schulz, it is time for the EU to fulfil its promises.

He has also been critical of Serbia's approach in relation to the EU, especially with Belgrade's nonparticipation in harmonising his foreign policy with the EU in relation to sanctions against Russia.

You cannot seek EU membership and violate EU principles as Belgrade is doing”.

Among the speakers of this summit was Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti.

According to him, Belgrade has chosen autism as the ruling system, not democracy like Kosovo.

Serbia according to Kurti has major similarities with Russia in terms of the type of government system.

The autocratic rulers are accountable to themselves. If Russia were a democracy, it wouldn't attack Ukraine. Serbia still does not impose sanctions on Russia. Serbia's president has signed agreements with Russia on gas. Belgrade and Moscow have agreed to foreign policy. Belgrade is conveying signals that it has chosen to autocracy”, Kurti has said.

That's why Kurti thinks the democratic world should speak in a voice when it comes to autocratic states like Serbia and Russia.

With democracy we mean the creation and promotion of functional institutions. Our government took over on March 22nd last year. 22 years later we have shown that democracy and economic progress go hand in hand and essential is the principle of law.

According to Kurti in a truly democratic state, laws should be respected and dominated equality.

With our government, Kosovo has made great steps towards such an idea. Since we've received the mandate of the enforcement law, 800 shares have taken place, including the arrest of over 2 thousand citizens have destroyed 68 criminal gangs and confiscated over 1.8 million drugs, 75 seized villas due to illegal construction, and the list of owners was shocking but not surprisingly high-level judges, wealthy businessmen, politicians and their relatives”, Kurti said.

Kurt's next speech has been praised with the work of his government.

Foreign investments have increased, increased 400,000 jobs, and you have the largest budget ever. Foreign investors find it easier to invest in Kosovo because they no longer need to corrupt authorities”.

“Although there are crises affecting the world, in Kosovo this crisis can be managed more easily, and Kosovo is facing a crisis that is greatly affecting it, such as raising the price of energy and those of essential products. In the past two decades, there has been a lack of power generation and shows failure to repair thermal power plants”, Kurti said away.
