After an experiment with nearly 35,000 participants, researchers came to a conclusion: more free time increases welfare, but partly.
People who were taking up to 2 hours off during the day felt better than those with less time, but those who spent this hour (so more than free hours) generally felt bad.
In short, the golden free time should pass 120 minutes because you can face the opposite effect. A little vacation time doesn't do you any better than it should!
What matters is how people take advantage of their leisure!
Of course, being busy all the time is stressful, but leisure does not always make you happy. Experts noted that some of the adults said they suffered from “leisure time fatigue” as they felt they were lacking motivation, ambition and productivity. Others said it would be painful for them if they had too much leisure time during the day and did not use it productively, but the concept of productivity is in your hands!
If you watch two hours a movie makes you happy, then do it, because at the end of the day we're talking about taking care of yourself. However, do not neglect simple activities that are fun and healthy too. Sports, walks, books, or cooking can change the day if that is your goal.
