He has said his death is a loss for Kosovo as well.
These comments Haradinaj made through a Facebook text.
I received the news of Germany's ambassador's death in China, Prof. Jan Hecker. With former Chancellor Merkel's adviser, we have co-operated in the near future, and his death except for Germany is loss for Kosovo as well. In these heavy moments we share the pain with the deceased family, Chancellor Merkel and Germany”, he said.
Jan Hecker, German ambassador to China, has died at 54 years of age, just weeks after his appointment to this position, has announced the German embassy through an announcement, CNN writes.
The circumstances surrounding the diplomat's death have not been disclosed.
Hecker was appointed the 14th German ambassador to China in late August. Prior to his appointment, he served as Director of the Department of Foreign Policy, Security and Development and had been foreign policy adviser since 2017.
When he accepted the new job, Hecker had said his goals for the new mission were “contribute to the long-term and sustainable development of German-Ki relations through our work” and “further strengthen dialogue and partnership“.
Hecker had visited Kosovo in 2019, where Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj had been expected since then.
