News of her visit had made it known on her own this month, when she had said that before the end of September she would travel to the region to send a strong signal of engagement in the enlargement process.
While, the European Commission has announced that it will launch its programme in the Western Balkans on 28 September in Skopje and Tirana.
While, the day after, she will visit Pristina.
After Pristina, von der Leyen plans to visit Podgorica and Belgrade.
