The FSHF had applied to FIFA for Bajrami to be allowed to play for Albania, but it was rejected on the grounds that she had played Switzerland four matches after turning 21. According to the rules, this condition was a barrier. FSHF then decided to follow this issue legally and has succeeded in CAS.
