According to foreign media, she died at the age of 96 on July 10th in her home town, where she was adopted.
She was buried in the Hebrew cemetery in the Ohlsdorf suburb near her husband, Nissim, who died in 1999.
Many personalities attended her funeral, including Hamburg Mayor Carol Weit and Peter Tschentscher, Berlin State Secretary Sausan Cebli and actor Rolf Becker.
“Ether Bayarano gave extraordinary services to our civil society not only in Hamburg, but throughout Germany”, Weit said during the burial service.
Bearano's energetic fight against right extremism until the end of her life was admirable, she said.
