Today we have accepted 182,900 doses of Astra Zeneca vaccine from our friends of the Kingdom of Norway.
The contingent of vaccines from Norway has arrived in Kosovo through transport organised by European Union institutions. This support from the Norwegian government, the Norwegian people and the EU institutions is of great importance to us, for which we express our gratitude.
In accepting vaccines at the facilities of the Kosovo National Public Health Institute, there were, Health Minister Dr. Arben Vitita, Defence Minister Armend Mehaj, Norway's Kingdom Ambassador Jens Erik Grøndahl and EU Office Co-operation Sector Leader Louis Brussa in Kosovo.
Minister Vitita expressed the most sincere gratitude for the continued assistance and support of Norway and the EU in facing COVID-19, in order to protect public health.
Minister Vitita added that solidarity among friendly countries at the time of the COVIDD-19 shows how important it is for us to be co-operative in the immune process, because it is the best form to distinguish the victory against the COVID-19 virus.
Ambassador Grøndahl stressed that it is a human duty to be close to each other to fight COVID-19 and make sure that we have as stable co-operation as possible.
On the other hand, the representative of the EU office, Mr. Brusa expressed happiness in improving the epidemiological situation and stressed that the European Union will stay alongside Kosovo all the time difficult with COVID-19 and that it remains committed to supporting Kosovo in strengthening the health sector.
