Croatian Health Minister Dr. Willy Berosh, says I will never forget the early Sunday morning, and the sadness he and his family felt when they heard about the incident at Slavonski Brod. Beosh relates how his sense of doctor gave him more power to mobilise and to help the injured and everyone else in the Sunday accident.
At the helm with Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovi, the Croatian state mobilised all necessary forces to take the situation under control. And Croatia succeeded.
“First of all, I would like to express my condolences to the people of Kosovo for a devastating tragedy that shocked both our nations. I am terrified and shocked by the magnitude of this disaster, like a doctor and a human being. My thoughts and prayers are with those who have lost loved ones and all those who have been affected by this terrible catastrophe. Both our countries are not strangers in bad times, known for their great strength and heart. I believe with all my heart that together we will overcome this huge loss”, he has told Kosovo Press.
Beros has indicated that I will never forget Sunday morning and the sadness he felt when he received news of the accident.
I will never forget that early Sunday morning, and the sadness my family and I felt when we got the news. I immediately wanted to help, and to leave for Slavonski Brod, to lead medical efforts to help passengers and all affected by the accident. First, I received a call from the Croatian Emergency Medicine Institute, which secured arrival at the site of the accident. Along with Croatia's prime minister, Andrej Plenkovi, we mobilised all necessary forces to take over”, he added.
He has said that each member of the health staff should be prepared for any kind of accident or incident every day, and according to him, they have been preparing for such situations for years.
Any member of the health staff should be prepared for any kind of accident or incident every day. That's our call. Through continued education and training for medical responses to a massive accident, we've been preparing for such situations for years. Therefore, we reacted according to standard protocol ʹthe medical response to major incidents MMA, which included the rapid mobilization of the entire health system. However, this is expected. What I couldn't imagine was, the solidarity and sensitivity displayed by all our health professionals towards our friends from Kosovo. I am especially proud that we have provided translators at the right time for the injured. For this I am deeply grateful to Kosovo's ambassador to Croatia, Gezim Kasapolli, and other Albanian-language speakers, living here in Croatia”, he has stated.
Beros has stressed that the friendship between Croatia and Kosovo has more value than any other motivation.
He has indicated that Croatia mourns and stands next to the people of Kosovo, as any individual would.
This is not a political issue, but a human issue, where the size of our hearts and the greatness of friendship between Croatia and Kosovo are more valuable than any other motivation. I grew up and educated to help people and I have given a vow, which I continue to hold as health minister and as a human being. Therefore, Croatia mourns, and stands next to the people of Kosovo, as any individual” would do, he added.
