A new study has shown that couples reach the peak of happiness when they engage in sex very rarely.
Research suggests that a person who often gets into bed has little sentimental benefits in the sense of a stable relationship.
So the key to a happy relationship is not frequent sex.
The study, conducted by the University of Toronto-Misissauga in Canada, analysed data taken from 24000 US married couples who confirmed that having sex only once a week is enough to achieve happiness in couples.
Couples showed that their contentment had nothing to do with sex.
Rather, the less we do, the more relaxed we are”, one of the respondents said.
“Our study suggests that it is important to maintain an intimate relationship with your partner, but you don't need to have sex every day, as long as you've built an emotional relationship with your partner”, said one of the study directors.
