KMDLNJ has said this is political provocation of the Serbian Orthodox Church.

“KMDLNI warns that these provocative actions can and will provoke the response of UPP students, with unpredictable consequences. Kosovo institutions must act to prevent the exiting of the situation otherwise will take responsibility for possible consequences”, said in response.

Full response:

On the eve of continuing talks between Kosovo and Serbia, the Serbian Orthodox Church held Liturgy in the Political Orthodox Church built in the space of the UPP, “hasan Pristina” in Pristina.

The church was built at the time of the occupation of university space by the Serbian regime and on the basis of discrimination laws. This church, which has long had to move from that space and only the political opportunity of local politicians and the threat of international factors, has kept it on its feet. KMDLNI recognizes and respects the right to exercise religious rights and freedoms for all believers on the basis of beliefs and will, but opposes manipulation of religion for political purposes. The case of keeping liturgy in an unfinished facility and unregulated status, KMDLNj considers it provocation.

The Serbian Orthodox Church, sure because of the sensitivity of the political situation in Kosovo, no one will intervene and misuse a spiritual and religious activity for political purposes. These activities should not be allowed in the future as long as there are sufficient and functional spaces in Pristina and the environment for the exercise of religious activities.

KMDLNI warns that these provocative actions of KOS can and will provoke the response of UPP students, with unpredictable consequences. Kosovo institutions must act to prevent the exiting of the situation otherwise will take responsibility for possible consequences.
