The company itself has said it has not registered high levels of this health problem, known as Myocarditis, rather than would normally be expected in the general population, Reuters writes, broadcast the Express newspaper.
In Israel, 275 cases of myocarditis were reported from December 2020 to May of this year among the 5 million people vaccinated. The Ministry of Health published this information as part of a study to analyze the problem of heart inflammation.
Most patients who experienced heart inflammation spent more than four days in the hospital, and 95 percent of the cases were classified as easy, according to the study, which the ministry said was performed by three expert teams.
Through a statement, the Ministry of Health said there is a possible link between taking the second dose of Pfizer's vaccine and presenting myocarditis to men aged 16 to 30.
The vaccine producer said that the side effects have been fully analysed and that the company meets the criteria of Israel's Health Ministry Department's Department of Health Security for review.
Last month, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommended deeper studies about the possibility that mRNA vaccines were linked to myocarditis.
