On June 6, 1999, at the time when only the end of the freedom struggle was expected, the latest offensive against front lines at the 131nd Brigade, Yusuf Gervalla. Besides being tired of fighting and wound, I was also tired of lack of weapons and ammunition. I had many units of recent ammunition on front lines, many killed and wounded. This was the worst day of the war for me.
On the early morning of 6, 1999, after the visits of points across Decani's entire territory, I stopped at the Ratish Cross, where there was absolute calm and I almost smelled freedom. The soldiers were very willing, we talked to almost the whole unit. At 1: 00 p.m., I begged Besim Selmanaj to take me to headquarters. I had been cleaning my wounds for days. Naim Mustafa was assigned to stand at hand (Naimi was chief of the staff of Brigades).
This was the last separating from the Shpend and The Source.
A few minutes later, the battle began, where I lost Shpend Malay (Sv. Commander for Logistics Burim Mustafaj (The Unit's Commander), as Florim Mustafaj, Bujar Haradinaj, Valbona Tafilaj and Ardian Malaj were seriously injured.
Although the Serbian Army was humiliated that day, the loss of friends was great and painful for me and all the soldiers of the Zone.
This date also marks the anniversary of the life-sharing of one of the most prominent fighters of the 131 Brigade Jusuf Gervallah, Zeqir Nimonaj.
Even after 22 years, they continue to remain alive in my memory
