Britney Spears speaks for the first time in court of her condition: They're abusing me, crying every day.

Singer Britney Spears has spoken publicly in court at a hearing for custody, an important moment in a multi-year battle for which she has almost never spoken directly.

When she joined the hearing session, she demanded that her remarks not be closed to the public after fans and supporters were gathered outside the court in central L.A.

Spear lawyer Samuel D. Inngham III said she would not interrupt the singer at any moment while she was speaking.

I'm fine. It's a lie. I'm not happy, I can't sleep, I'm depressed, I cry every day,” Said Spears.

Spears said her father, Jamie Spears, desperately wanted control over her and everything related to her life.

The singer said she has lied about her welfare for years and wants things to change.

She also does not want to be appreciated to determine whether she has regained her mental capacity.
