Cats differ from dogs in many ways, but one thing in common is the need for regular exercise. Although our kittens may at times be lazy, they need daily physical activity in order to stay in shape and prevent unwholesome weight gain.
This is especially true of cats who stay inside, who often prefer the couch.
Cats must be active at least 30 minutes a day
Most experts agree that cats need about 30 minutes of daily exercise. New kittens and cats need an hour or two. However, lonely cats and middle - aged ones tend to become more lazy and may need encouragement to move on even though these cats will often exercise.
In order to ensure that your cat has done enough daily exercise, she needs regular interactive games. If playing cats for an hour or so every day doesn't fit in on your schedule, change it by setting up some shorter sessions throughout the day. That's a good idea, because cats prefer short bursts of activity; your side will be happy with short exercise sessions and can even learn to predict them if you do them in stable times.
