Moscow's citizenship policy in Ukraine has been criticised internationally, as it is seen as attempting to destabilise Ukraine's birth, where more than 13,000 people have died from starting fighting in April 2014.
Ukraine has condemned the naturalisation of Ukrainian citizens, viewing this decision as part of Moscow's hybrid war and as violating Ukraine's sovereignty.
Recently, tensions between Russia and Western-backed Ukraine have increased significantly. Shortly ago, thousands of Russian troops with heavy weapons settled near the Ukrainian border, while in recent days Moscow decided to withdraw.
