This is my first opportunity to congratulate the people of Kosovo as we celebrate Europe Day together. May 9th reminds us of the unity and shared fate of our union, and our partners in the Western Balkans. This day reminds us all. This day belongs to Kosovars as much as it does to EU citizens. It represents celebrating the common values we believe in. Kosovo has the future in the European Union and has no alternative to the European road. The EU will not be complete without all Western Balkan countries. It is my firm belief that despite the challenges brought by the pandemic against any temporary gap in opinion, the EU's role will never diminish and the EU will continue to be Kosovo's closest partner”, Szunyog has said.
Moreover, he has expressed the EU's commitment to continue helping Kosovo with economic recovery, its institutions, strengthening democracy and employing young people.
“The EU has provided financial resources for combating the social and economic effects of the current crisis, with humanitarian aid, grants and loans. But we'll do more. We've all been touched, and together we have to fight it. Therefore, let us stay together today to mark Europe Day, and celebrate the common values between Kosovo and the European Union”, Szunyog has said.
