Ahmeti has named war against free speech this arrest that took place after a plane's flight to Lithuania by the Belarusian authorities was prevented.
“We are very concerned about the deviation of Athens-Vilnius flight to Belarus to arrest journalist Roman Protasevich. Besides jeopardising free movement into Europe, it represents a long struggle of the Belarusous dictatorship against freedom of speech, which must now end”, Ahmeti wrote.
The blogger in question is accused by power in Belarus of inciting protests against Alexander Lucas, who, in spite of them, has managed to survive in power.
