Today, 13 years are made by the adoption of the Constitution of the Republic of Kosovo.

Kosovo's constitution was ratified on April 9, 2008, and took effect on June 15, 2008. The constitution is the highest judicial act, guaranteeing fundamental rights and freedoms of all citizens of the country.

Much of this constitution stems from former President Martti Ahtisaari's Plan, thus granting specific rights to minority groups and a safer environment for all Kosovo citizens.

The constitution defines Kosovo as a state with a neutral view of religion, Article 8. She has 14 chapters and 162 mothers.

April 9th is officially a state holiday in Kosovo, which means institutions today have a day off.
