Former Russian General: Washington gave green light to Albanians for military base in Mitrovica

“The Serbs' concern about the plans of Albanians to build a military base for their military units on the Hill of Crnusha is justified”, said retired General Colonel of the Russian Federation and historic science doctor Leonid Grigijevicq Ivasov, reports <2>Vecernje Novosti”. Ivasov says the “Americans are dishonest when they say this is an autonomous decision by Albanians from Kosovo”.
“If an American colonel, not to mention a general or a more important politician, told Kosovo Albanians not to form such a base, it will no longer exist”, he said.
Iwasov stressed that Albanians have received the green light for creating the Kosovo Security Force range (FSK) in South Mitrovica.
The American “were repeatedly handed over to Albanians and pretended not to see what they were doing” he said.
Commenting on the fact that a NATO exercise in Kosovo is under way to quickly transfer American forces to different countries in Europe, Iwasov said that all exercises in which leading actors are mostly anti-rus characters.
Washington is spreading fear into Europe. This scenario is completely clear. It is beyond doubt that NATO is governed by America. In Washington, they're trying to prove to Europeans that only they can protect and secure them and therefore you have to listen to them. They need to mobilise people. Americans want to turn them against Russia. When making Europeans fully convinced, Americans can impose their economic interests on them as something fully self-accused”, he said.
Establishing a Kosovo Security Force range (FSK) in South Mitrovica has sparked reactions in Serbia as well. Serbian President Aleksandar Vuciq has criticised warnings of forming as he has expressed “the KSF base” in Crushesa, South Mitrovica.
“If there is any danger or more serious threat to the Serbian people... I don't need to continue. The Serbs of Metohija's Kosovo know it, Vuciq said.
To that statement, South Mitrovica Chairman Agim Bahtiri, whose municipality on March 26th divided about 200 hectares for the construction of the polygaon on the Hill of Crnousa. He said this range does not affect anyone's safety.
The KSF's military base to be built on the Hill of Crnusha is not a provocation to anyone, nor will the security of Kosovo Serb residents, who protect and protect Kosovo state with its mechanisms, as all residents of our Republic”He said Bahtiri.
