If you dig with a razor, you know the bumps created after the depiling are inevitable. Although no one surely notices them, you may want a smoother skin or just aesthetically like it. There is no absolute way to prevent it and what works for you, it may not work for someone else, but there are some simple steps you can apply to keep it somehow under control.
Dr. Corey Hartmann, dermatologist, says that “if you have thick hair, you are more likely to experience bumps after depiling”. As number 1 way to prevent them, he recommends laser detection. In the absence of this, some ways to manage the bumps after the extraction are these:
Look closely at how your hair grows (the direction in which it grows) and then be compiled only in that direction, not against it.
Use razor blades. The more edge, the higher the risk of bumps.
Use cream or hydrated gel to allow the razor to slide with less friction.
The use of AHA and BHA cleaners and hydrants can also help prevent growth of hairs and bumps.
If you think that after the extraction, your skin becomes more frustrated than you might ever think is normal, consult a dermatologist.
