Europe Nostra takes letter to Osman and Kurti: It doesn't take any of their complaints.

In that letter Kurti and Osmani opposed the used language and findings made in a report affecting the infamous list of the Monastery among the 7 most endangered countries in Europe in 2021.

Because of the great importance this organisation has, there are also expected to be political implications at the expense of Kosovo.

But Europe Nostra has not left Kurt and Osman unanswered. Why, the answer is only formal and does not address any of the points.

Re: 2021 Europe's list of 7 most endangered monuments

Your Honor. President,

Your Honor. Prime Minister,

First let us congratulate you on your election as president, Kosovo's prime minister, respectively. We wish you any success in exercising your important responsibilities in providing a European future for your country and its citizens.

We thank you for your letter on March 18th, which you have addressed to the Council of Europe Nostra as well as to the Adviser panel of our most endangered program. We want to assure you that we have carefully examined your views regarding the Decani Monastery, which is part of the World Monuments List at Danger and has entered our narrow list of the 7 most endangered monuments in Europe for 2021.

Please remember that our list of the 7 most endangered monuments in Europe will be made public on April 8, 2021. We want to remember that by publicising such a list year after year, Europe Nostra and our partner, the European Investment Bank Institute, we are committed to acting as catalysts for positive change and future-turned dialogue that is important for protecting Europe's endangered heritage.

As told above, we appreciate your strong commitment to protect the progress of cultural and natural heritage in Kosovo, which is part of Europe and the World's common cultural heritage. Thank you for your invitation to arrange a meeting where we would discuss ways to develop future cooperation. We strongly hope that soon we will be able to travel again and organise a visit to Kosovo. In the meantime, we suggest we hold a virtual video conference in the coming weeks. Within the framework of our strong commitment to the proper protection of cultural and natural heritage in the Western Balkans, as a vital component of their European roads and future, we welcome co-operation with public and private organs that are active in the field of cultural heritage in Kosovo, as well as in all other countries in the region.
