In the bow of only 12 days, the level of David-19 doubled to 17%, while in Delhi it reached 30%. Hospital capacity across the country has been filled, but this time mainly young people take beds; in Delhi, 65% of the cases are under 40.
While the remarkable spread of the virus has been partly caused by a more transmitting version in India.
Shocked by criticism of the lack of preparation before the wave of infections, the central government has organised special trains to bring oxygen supplies to the most hit cities.
It has also pressured industrialists to increase oxygen production, as well as lifesaving drugs, since they are in want.
Indian Air Force is also being used to transport oxygen tanks and other supplies across the country
Many patients are dying outside hospitals in the capital because of lack of beds and oxygen.
A charity has established an improvised crematorium to deal with increasing death.
