Xhafer Tahiri backs Lumir Abdixhiku for LDK chairman

Tahiri has said that on March 14th, the day this LDK Election Parliament will be held, this political subject will not repeat mistakes made in the past.

Xhafer Tahiri, who is also chairman of the Kosovo Democratic League branch in Vushtrri, said that from the meetings they have held it is clear how the branch will support Abdixhik for chairman of this party.

He voiced optimism that LDK delegates who will appear in front of the ballot boxes to choose their leader will choose the right way for the LDK future.

From the candidacy we have now seen by Mr. Haziri and Mr. Lumir Abdixhik, but I think it's clear that our branch is based on what I said and declared and the meetings we have held and that we will personally support Lumir Abdixhik's candidacy for LDK chairman. The LDK is ahead of a very important decision on March 14th, and I am confident that LDK delegates will choose the right way to move forward. These elections are not to deny the LDK's past, are not to change the LDK's past, and are not to deny anyone's contribution within the LDK. These are elections for the future of the LDK and Kosovo. Therefore, personally but also the LDK branch in Vushtrri supports a radical change in this election in the Assembly, we will be declared by vote regardless of whether it is the secret vote”, he stressed.

Whether it will produce divisions within the LDK on Sunday when the Electoral Assembly will be held, Association Council member Xhafer Tahiri has wished this would not happen because he estimated it would be a big disaster for this political subject.

He also said he does not believe there are clans within the party, as the previous clans say they brought the LDK here today.

I wish this could not happen, it would be a huge disaster for the LDK and for Kosovo that the will of LDK voters for change, the will of membership for change to be transformed into the 14 March box that will decide in the LDK Assembly. I hope that everyone on behalf of that love they have for the LDK, for the next 30 years for LDK, will reflect and enable what is today the feeling and demand of the absolute majority of the LDK electorate to translate into the voting box on March 14th, otherwise it will be extremely problematic for LDK. I don't want to believe that there are clans, because those clans brought him in. The LDK here, in fact we need to open a discussion within the LDK to bring in a member system, a vote after the new chairman is elected in the next two years we need to discuss that we have a member, a vote so that LDK returns voters, citizens and every LDK member will have his own in the election of LDK's president even at the central level, but also at a branch level of<x1, he said.

He hopes that on March 14th no one will be denied running and will be a democratic process, as he said past mistakes should not be repeated.

And we'll see on Sunday, March 14th, which is going to be a festive electoral process within the LDK, absolutely no one will be denied the right to run, all the candidacys will be voted on even the notorious Article 25.2 will be exceeded in the Parliament, so there will be no denial of anybody's candidacy, because the mistakes of the past cannot be repeated anymore. There has been a mistake in the past what happened, I have been against those actions as individuals, and now as head of the branch, I will still reject anybody's denial, and then there will be a secret vote that will determine who the new LDK chairman is”, Tahiri said.

The Democratic League of Kosovo will hold the Election Assembly for the election of the new chairman, on 14 March of this year. Until the election of the new chairman came after the poor result in the February 14th elections, which resulted in his resignation from the LDK chairman's position, Isa Mustafa. On March 14th 355 delegates from 38 branches of this party across all municipalities will gather to give their vote.
