Ernesto Araujo, a 53-year-old career diplomat famous for his collision with China's Xi Jinping and Donald Trump worship, resigned on Monday, ending what critics called the most catastrophic chapter in Brazil's history of diplomacy.

Just hours after Araujo's resignation, Defence Minister Fernando Azevedo and Silva also announced that they were leaving the government, causing shocks.
Aruio was elected foreign affairs minister in November 2018, following President Jair Bolsonaro's sensational election victory, despite never serving as ambassador.
The chief of Brazil's diplomacy who had once called Trump “Western rescuer” had repeatedly attacked the leaders of the Chinese Communist party and called it the coronavirus “communavirus”.
He had also attacked the new American president, Joe Biden, after winning the November 3rd election. /Periscope
