Police in Norway said they have started interrogating Prime Minister Erna Solberg, after she acknowledged that she has violated rules against the spread of the coronary during a birthday trip.
“We have launched an investigation and it includes questioning Prime Minister”, police inspector Per Morten Sanding told Reuters news agency.
He said questioning is not over yet and that police plan to complete the investigation this week.
The violation of the social distance rule in Norway could be fined.
Prime Minister Solberg has been with 13 others at a restaurant in the town of Geilo in late February to celebrate the 60th birthday.
The events involving more than ten are forbidden in Norway because of the spread of the Coronobrus.
Last Friday, Solberg has apologised for her actions, saying she believes the trip to the restaurant has become “in line with the instructions for the Coronavirus”.
We've been to a restaurant where we've reserved three separate tables and kept a distance of”, Solberg said.
According to Johns Hopkins University figures, Norway has recorded over 88,000 cases of coronary and 649 victims.
