Prime Minister Albin Kurti has received a letter of congratulations from his Japanese counterpart, Yoshihide Suga, on the occasion of his election, Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo.

Japan places great importance on relations with Kosovo, says the letter of congratulations.

Kosovo considers it a key role for peace and stability in the Western Balkans region and in Europe, while committed to contributing to its development.

Kosovo will have continued support from Japan, including assistance through the previously envisioned grant for addressing the COVID-19 pandemic, Prime Minister Suga has said, while demonstrating confidence that Prime Minister Kurti will testify to a strong leadership towards promoting social and economic reforms in the country.

Take the opportunity to express my heartfelt congratulations on your choice as Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo and express my sincere congratulations on any success in your important position.

Japan places great importance on relations with Kosovo, which plays a key role for peace and stability in the Western Balkan region as well as in Europe, while it is committed to contributing to the development of your country through continued support, including assistance through the previously envisioned grant to address current pandemic COVID-19.

In close co-operation with Your Honor, Japan will continue to actively support Kosovo's reform efforts towards EU membership within the framework of the Western Balkans Co-operation Initiative.

I strongly believe that your Honor will witness a strong leadership towards promoting social and economic reforms in your country.
