Covax has declared that the supply will take place in the short-term term and April-May, but the time of surrender depends on some factors, including the approval of profitable countries for the use of vaccine, production availability, and other criteria such as vaccine plans and compensation arrangements, import authorization, etc.
Surrenders at this stage have begun in two African countries in Ghana and Côte d'Ivoire, which have been supplied by 500 thousand doses of the Astra Zeneca vaccine produced by the Serum Institute.
Further “Surrenders are under way this week, and once other doses are made ready, they will continue to surrender consistently over the coming months”, Covax's announcement reported.
Albania is also on this list, but as self-financer of 120 thousand vaccines.
