16 police officers died from the Coronavirus from the beginning of the pandemic

Kosovo police have indicated that since the beginning of the pandemic there are 1,000 and 560 police officials have been infected, while 16 of them have lost their lives.

According to the Kosovo Police, of the officials infected with individuals-19, 117 are active cases.

Reference to the decisions of Kosovo institutions, as well as to the Plan of Willing and Response Against the New COVID-19, Kosovo Police have long drafted the operational police order called “UO for preparedness and reaction for Coronavirus COVID-19”

With the aim of protecting police officials during confronting the pandemic, Kosovo Police have taken several actions.

Kosovo's “Police, with the aim of protecting all police officials in connection with the situation around the corruption, have taken immediate measures through activities by the Police Health Services Directorate as they are: (Deinfectation, Dezinectation and Deratisation) at police objects, including border points and police stations, and with the aim of awareness and information, has prepared posters, brochures with medical advice, as well as held some informative speeches for police members about prevention and maintenance of health for its members. It has also distributed masks and disinfectives for its own police units”, the Kosovo Police's response to news.

Kosovo police have also indicated that since August 2020, when the law for prevention of individual-19 went into effect, until March 08th, 145 thousand and 772 fines have been imposed by police on the ground for failing to implement measures on the Cavido-19 pandemic.

As for from the beginning of the pandemic, the Kosovo Police have added 200 screws.
