Although the election campaign has officially started on Wednesday (February 3rd 2021), political parties have now started meetings with their supporters in municipalities for weeks.
And given the situation with the pandemic and despite the condemnations of the Inspectorate, what we've seen so far is that political subjects are not paying any importance to the health of citizens, thus gathering to a large degree without respecting anti-sequency. CO VID-19 in effect.
In this regard, microbiologist Lulu Raka has spoken, considering it disturbing. In a pronouncement for Telegrafi, Raka has said that gathering people at party gatherings without respect for preventive measures could be a powerful catalyst of spreading new cases with COVID-19.
The start of the pre-election campaign during January, in which no party respected the preventive measures, could be the strongest catalyst for the faster spread of new cases, which could gradually be dominated by the new version of the virus. Intensification of the campaign over the next few days with the collection of hundreds, and in some cases thousands of sympathies in closed objects in time pandemia increase this risk”, Raka said.
Microbiologist Raka has added that such approach is unacceptable and threatens the health of citizens, adding that political leaders should have it clear that the lives of their sympathisers are more valuable than their votes.
Such a approach is unacceptable and threatens the public and individual health of Kosovo citizens. Political leaders should have it clear that the lives of their sympathisers are more valuable than their votes. Therefore, they must take the lead in implementing preventive measures”, Raka said.
The campaign for early elections 2021 in the Republic of Kosovo has started on 3 February and will continue until 12 February.
