The president's U.d. Vjosa Osmani has accepted telegrams of congratulations on the 13th anniversary of Kosovo's independence by Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom, German President Frank- Walter Steinmeier, French President Emmanuel Macron and Italian Sergio Mattarella.
In Queen Elizabeth II's telegram, she has congratulated the people of Kosovo on the day of independence, showing hope of overcoming challenges from the pandemic.
German President Steinmeier, on telegram, has highlighted Kosovo's progress in the European integration process.
The crucial and stable “reforms for strengthening and rule of law, as well as normalising relations with Serbia, are also essential to continue this road. Resumption of dialogue last year with EU mediation was an important step”, the German president's telegram said.
Even his French counterpart, President Macron, congratulating the people of Kosovo for the Day of Independence, has noted the importance of restarting dialogue with Serbia.
“I would like to welcome Kosovo's commitment to dialogue with Serbia since its resumption, after the summit, which Chancellor Merkel and I held on July 10, 2020. I fully support the European Union's mediation and special representative for dialogue, Mr. Miroslav Lajcak, with the aim of reaching a legally binding and comprehensive agreement”, is said in President Macron's telegram.
Meanwhile, Italian President Mattarella has also praised the people of Kosovo on the 13th anniversary of independence, noting support for the dialogue process with Belgrade.
