Police have seized about a thousand kilograms of tobacco, which had been introduced to Kosovo from northern Macedonia.
Police have indicated that they have been able to identify the yellow-colphagen LT van with local license plates.
Border Police Task Unit ( DDRK-East) in the application of measures to prevent and fight lawlessness have intensified tactical and operational controls in the field.
“As a result of this, today with the date of 22.12.2021, around 11:20, based on risk analysis and intelligent information from border police units has been managed to identify the yellow-colsphagen LT van with local license plates, directed by Kosovo citizen (S.S.), who was introduced into the territory of the Republic of Kosovo from Northern Macedonia through illegal routes. After his attempt to avoid police ban and its entry into urban areas into the city of the Year and attempted to escape with the goods, our border authorities have managed to stop the suspect by 1:35 near the green market. In the course of the search, 36 unworked tobacco bags have been found, about a thousand kilograms (10,000 kg). In case it is taking over the Regional Investigation Unit of the East Border Directorate and further decisions will be taken into consultation with the prosecutor”, the police community says.
Following preliminary investigations in co-operation with the relevant prosecution confiscated goods would be handed over to Kosovo Customs.
