As soon as December arrives, everything is decorated for the holiday season. There are some who look forward to it this month, but there are also those who dislike it. Don't worry, you're not the only ones who get sad about Christmas.
Fernando Azor, psychologist from gabinetdepsicía.com, explained to Euronews how to cope with this period if you don't like parties:
Not Disease
“The desperate state of Christmas” is not a psychological disorder or an illness in itself. Although its extreme symptoms may be disturbing: sadness, lack of appetite, and sleep, anxiety. In fact, one of the reasons people get sad about Christmas is when they think another year went by, and what did they accomplish during the next year?
You don't hate Christmas
In any situation you need to think positively. If you do not like the festive atmosphere, then you feel that you will rest for a few days. You don't hate parties, but you probably think a lot during this period. Don't keep negative feelings to yourself, talk to someone about your partytime concerns.

Spend Christmas as you wish
Razor's main advice to “surviving” on these dates is “normalisation” of the period. “Someone can accept all the cliche and “live the Christmas fairy tale”, Azor said, or, as an alternative, see the shades and choose not to celebrate in a traditional way.
