Hayet Abidal, wife of Barcelona legend Eric Abidal, has reportedly turned into a suspect in the attack on SPG football player Kheira Haraui.
It was reported yesterday that Abidal will be questioned as part of the ongoing investigation into the attack, which took place on November 4th until Hamraou returned home from a dinner organised by the SPG, broadcast Periscopi.
The 31-year-old midfield was dragged out of the car by two masked men, and then hit on foot with long iron bars.
Haraui was sent to the hospital and took many sewings and hands.
According to Le Monde, Abidal is expected to be interviewed after investigations found an SIM card registered in his name on Hamraou's phone.
The 42-year-old is not believed to be suspected of being directly involved in the attack, but investigators say they want to examine his privileged” relationship with Hamraou.
Maryvonne Caillibotte, state prosecutor at Versailles, told Le Monde that Abidal's wife can also be interviewed and HINA L'Equipe' reported that Hayet is now suspected in this case.
It is said that Hayet's involvement in the incident could be about personal revenge for a reported affair between her husband, Eric Abidal, and Hamraou, even though such reports have not been confirmed by official sources.
Speculations that the attack may be connected to personal issues initially came after the statement by Aminata Diallos, the SPG player who drove Hamraou home from the restaurant.
Dialo informed the police that she heard the attackers saying to her fellow player:
So... you're sleeping with a married man?
Hamraou reportedly confirmed the comments, but denied having had relations with married men. /Periscope. com/
