The socio-economic and political situation in Kosovo during the 1990s has caused many Kosovars to leave the country. Some sought a better life, and some forced, since they were persecuted by the then Serb regime.
That was the fate of Pristina, Progress Rama, who had been forced since 1992 to leave Kosovo for Great Britain as 16 years old after being persecuted by the regime.
But now, after nearly 29 years, the progress that had gone into England as a refugee, Kosovo is expected to become world famous architect and to have won many awards in architecture. Rama will lead the Pristina municipality after the result of the second round of local elections to be held yesterday.
The acts of Progress Rama have made Kosovo architect interested in the world's largest media, CNN and Bloomberg, and many others.

In a story about CNN, Rama had spoken about his history of leaving Kosovo, his war and his shift to the U.K. headquarter.
My name is Progress Rama and I sought asylum in Great Britain in 1992. Life in Kosovo was by no means easy. All young men of that time were involved in violence by Serbian police and military forces to be sent to the war with Croats or Bosniaks, so I saw that it was easier for me to come to Britain and seek asylum than to face the situation there”, Rama's progress on CNN has shown.

The cause of the heavy political situation, Great Britain had accepted Rama's demand for asylum. There Rama had continued his life and his schooling.
In London, he had started his architectural studies, which resulted in the opening of a company for architecture and design.
Progress Rama is internationally recognised architect. He has declared that he was valued at several prices, while his work was published in several international design magazines including “London Building Design Magazine”
Rama has been interviewed by BBC, CNN, BLOOMBERG, RAI, The Times Newspaper on architecture and Urbanism.
In 2012, he attended the Olympics as a special adviser.
Even on the page of the Ministry of Culture, Science and Technology, a biography of the architect has been published, which says that in 2012, Rama has been selected a crowner for Kosovo's representation in Italy's Bienalen of Architecture.
His CV is said to have experience over 20 years in various projects in hotel accommodations, while earlier working as an adviser at Southampton Airport.
Rama has experience as a teacher at the School of Architectural at Nottingham University and co-respected doctors at the Education and Modeling of the SMART building in the Mag and PRH programme at the SmartLab Media Institute.
