Kurti tells Saudi Arabia that it would be nice to lobby for Kosovo independence

Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti hosted Saudi Arabia's Religious Affairs Minister Abdullatif Al-Sheik at the meeting. Kurti thanked Minister Abdullah Al Sheikh for the visit and for the aid of Saudi Arabia for Kosovo.

In the announcement of the prime minister's office, he is said to especially appreciate the commitment and voter support in all international organisations where Kosovo has targeted membership.

Speaking of the Government's successes and progress, Kurti said institutional stability, good management of the COVID-19 pandemic, and economic growth has contributed to increased trust in institutions and optimism about the future.

He expressed readiness for continued good relations between the two states and stressed the need for investment. As areas where Saudi Arabia could invest cited banks and finances, health, tourism and trade.

As an influential state, the prime minister said he would welcome Saudi Arabia's lobby for recognising Kosovo from some majority Muslim countries.

Abdullah Al Sheikh thanked Kurti for his hospitality and expressed joy in the political stability, achievements and peace and prosperity he has observed in Kosovo.

He said Kosovo and its people enjoy great support and sympathy from the state and Saudi people. Support and co-operation will not be lacking in the future, said Minister Abdullah Al Sheikh.

Speaking of religious extremism, Saudi Arabia's minister for religious affairs said that misuse of religion for political and class wars by terrorist groups has caused his country and many countries in the world much suffering

He stressed the necessity of rooting out religious extremism and promoting moderate Islam that essentially has harmony and understanding among people. Saudi minister expressed joy that religious peace and tolerance reign in Kosovo.
