For a healthy life - style, it would be good to turn from time to time to the practices of long - lived people on the planet. They're known as the Blue Zones (Icaria, Greece; Loma Linda, California; Sardin, Italy; Okinawa, Japan; Nicoya, Costa Rica, and because of lifestyle, climate, and other factors, studies say that people in these countries live longer.
Dan Buettner, author and explorer of many life expectancy research, told of the Well & Good Batikes of the world's longest-lived people.
1. Find your “ikigai”
When you wake up in the morning, what lifts you out of bed? Finding the reason why you get out of bed and embrace that reason is one of the most frequent customs of people in the Blue Zone. The Japanese concept “ikigai” is linked to the desire to find out what stirs your soul and keeps you motivated. According to the Blue Zones, having a goal relates to life expectancy; literally, it gives you a reason to get out of bed in the morning.
2. Healthy Morning
A healthy diet is an important part of life expectancy. Part of this includes the morning meal.
3. Enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning
People living in each of the five Blue Zones enjoy a cup of coffee every morning. “ [People in these areas] drink up to two or three cups of coffee a day”, according to Buettner's findings. Just don't push too much sugar.
4. Say something nice to the first person you see
Besides eating a healthy breakfast (full of fruits and cereals) and 20 minutes of exercise (usually yoga or bicycle for work), Buetner begins every morning complimenting others. Besides positive emotions for others, create and cultivate a healthy social life.
