Stress is not always bad, because sometimes it encourages you to change your lifestyle or routine. Before you are charged most in this difficult period, you must keep this expert council in mind.
Regular travel in green spaces and forests helps combat stress, according to researchers at Tsukuba University.
To be precise, researchers noted that people who regularly travel to green spaces and villages also have improved skills to respond to stressful situations.
In the study, published in Public Health, researchers at Tsukuba University analyzed the sense of cohesion of participants, their demographic situation, and their walking habits.
A sense of cohesion involves a sense of meaning in life, awareness of stress, and a sense of being able to manage it.
Studies have shown that such factors as higher education and marriage strengthen the sense of cohesion, while smoking and lack of exercise weaken it.
People with a strong sense of cohesion also have a high tolerance for stress.
Researchers found that people walking in nature more often had a greater sense of cohesion.
How often can we walk in the nearest green space to reap the benefits of natural contact in improving stress response skills?
Based on research data at least once a week, it looks very effective.
“Our study shows that walking in a forest or green space at least once a week can help people have a stronger sense of cohesion”, explains Professor Sasahara, which may be a very good habit of improving mental health and managing stress.
