In a desperate attempt to match the outcome, Luton's goalkeeper ran towards Liverpool's gate to add numbers to the area.
But it ended bad for the host.
Liverpool attacked from the corner, and Alonso brilliantly scored 70m away to send the team to the next stage.

And then it was realized that a Liverpool fan earned a lot of money from this goal.
In July 2005, Adrian Hayward dreamed that Alonso would mark from his field to Liverpool's fan.
He decided to place 250 euros in bet, at 125/1. that the Spanish midfielder would mark from part of his field during the 2005/06 season.
And sensationally, the bet came out when Alonso scored against Luton exactly 15 years ago. Goli earned him more than 27 thousand euros.
Hayward spoke of BBCCH after Alonso's goal:
